Alkar Steel & Processing has built our reputation on the highest degree of customer service, by consistently delivering on time, accurate, and quality products. We stand confident and ready to service the orders that may be considered “too troublesome” for other service centers.

Founded in 1975 by two gentlemen named Al and Karl – Alkar Steel was born out of the necessity for a complete Steel Service Center, with an extreme emphasis on Customer Service.

Through good times and in bad – for over three decades, Alkar steel and Processing has proven again, and again, to be a survivor – and a protector of our customers and their needs.

Our philosophy of maintaining our focus on customer service, efficiency, and profitability has positioned us as an industry leader for over 35 years.

Company Timeline

1975	Alkar Steel Corporation is founded.
1977	Alkar builds new building on Calahan and moves in!
1980	First expansion from 11,000 sq. ft. to 22,000 sq. ft.
1990	Former C.F.O. and Co-owner, John M. Fayad - takes sole ownership of Alkar Steel.
1993	2nd expansion from 22,000 sq. ft. to 33,000 sq. ft.
1995	3rd expansion from 33,000 sq. ft. to 65,000 sq. ft. Installation of 24" Slitter. Installation of decamber line.
2000	Alkar Steel is sold to a Supplier and begins moving in the wrong direction.
2003	Alkar's Management Team pools their private resources and buys Alkar back – (A.S.A.P.) Alkar Steel and Processing is born!
2004	Once again in control of their own destinies, Alkar Steel and Processing begins to thrive.
Today	Years after proving their commitment to not only their Customers, but their Suppliers, and their Employees – Alkar is once again positioned as an industry leader.
